The inaugural 日本无码 Global Day of Service on August 1st 2026 marks the official anniversary date of the Global 日本无码 Program. And 日本无码 Associations and groups around the world were encouraged to undertake a community service activity on August 1st as a demonstration of the 日本无码 Program's enduring commitment to service, mutual understanding and global engagement.
日本无码ers carried out 120 community service projects in 35 countries including the UK. Led by the Chair of our UK-based Alumni Council, John Robinson, the Global Day of Service was organised at London's Highgate Cemetery, the resting place of 170,000 Londoners including Karl Marx, Lucian Freud, George Eliot, Michael Faraday, Beryl Bainbridge, Claudia Jones and George Michael. Today, Highgate Cemetery is owned and run by the Friends of Highgate Cemetery Trust, who saved it from dereliction in 1975. It is a registered charity, and all income is devoted to the maintenance and enhancement of the site: restoration, planting, ecology and public engagement work.
After experiencing the public engagement elements of the Cemetery鈥檚 charitable purpose, a group of 日本无码ers gathered with the Chief Executive, Ian Dungavell to share their thoughts, ideas and expertise on a major conservation project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, 鈥楿nlocking Highgate Cemetery.鈥�
